After 5 rounds of play at the Aurionpro Mumbai Grandmaster and Junior tournament, we have 2 players co-leading in the Masters and Junior section each. In the GM Open, Armenian IM Arsen Davytan is leading alongwith Indian GM Lalit Babu MR - both are on 5/5 points. In the Juniors tournament, the top seed Aansh Nandan Nerurkar is co-leading with Madhesh Kumar S - they are also on a perfect score. Madhesh scores a huge win against Grandmaster Tornidze Sanikidze

CM Madhesh Kumar S (2243, IND) scored the biggest win of his chess career so far by defeating GM Tornidze Sanikidze (2425, GEO) in the 4th round of the Aurionpro Mumbai GM Open 2025. In an intense situation, Madhesh held his nerves well and went on to win!

In the 4th round of the GM Open, Manuel Petrosyan (2541, ARM) scored a strong win with the White pieces over GM Alexei Fedorov (2370, BLR).

In the Juniors tournament, Madhvendra Pratap Sharma (2166, MP) scored a win in a rollercoaster game against Andalamala Hemal Varshan (1904, AP) in the 4th round. Some cute tactics in the end finished off the game!

Grandmaster Lalit Babu MR (2499, IND) scored a fine win with the Black pieces against GM Nguyen Duc Hoa (2370, VIE) in the 5th round of the GM Open. This win took him to 5/5 points!

IM Arsen Davytan played a beautiful game with the White pieces in the 5th round of the GM Open to defeat GM Mihail Nikitenko! This win puts Arsen on 5/5 points also - he is co-leading with Lalit.

In the 5th round of the Juniors, the top seed Aansh Nandan Nerurkar (2356, MAH) took down Adhiraj Mitra (1996, JH) to move to 5/5 points!
