by Himank Ghosh - 22/06/2025

Going into the final two rounds of the Aurionpro Mumbai International Chess tournament, we have sole leaders in both the GM Open and Juniors Tournament. Madhesh Kumar S has captured the sole lead among the Juniors scoring 6.5/7 points, while GM Aleksej Aleksandrov is the sole leader in the GM Open with 6.5/7 points. With just 2 more rounds to go, the fight is still very much on for the top spot! Catch all that happened from Round 5-7 at the tournament. Photos: Himank Ghosh, Vivek Sohani

Madhesh Kumar S takes the sole lead in Juniors

CM Madhesh Kumar S (2243, IND) is in scintillating form so far at the Aurionpro International Mumbai Juniors Chess Tournament. After 7 rounds of play, he is the sole leader with 6.5/7 points! In the 7th round, Madhesh took down Ramanuj Mishra (1748) in convincing fashion with the White pieces.
